Dr. Russell Goodwin

Russell J. Goodwin is a highly experienced professional with a unique set of skills as a therapist and trainer. Mr. Goodwin works extensively with both individuals and corporations at IMPACT Solutions as coordinator for these services.

On the private practice side, Mr. Goodwin counsels adolescents, young adults, and adults who are dealing with chemical dependency and other addictions, co-dependency, adolescent disorders, family parenting and relationship issues, adjustment disorders, abuse, anxiety, depression, and anger/behavioral management issues. Mr. Goodwin also does marital/couples/family therapy and conducts chemical dependency assessments and interventions.

On the corporate side, Mr. Goodwin works directly with schools, businesses, and community organizations, regionally and nationally, to setup/deliver trainings, in-services, and presentations. Mr. Goodwin conducts Drug Free Workplace and other such trainings that fulfill employee and supervisor requirements with entities such as the Bureau of Workers Compensation and the Department of Transportation. Mr. Goodwin has received awards and recognition from both private and public agencies for delivering high-quality training workshops. Most recently, in 2008, Mr. Goodwin was recognized as Trainer of The Year by the North Central Ohio Regional Training Center (Children & Family Services).

Mr. Goodwin joined the team at IMPACT Solutions, formerly Behavior Management Associates, in 1993. Prior to that, Mr. Goodwin spent 10 years at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, serving as a counselor supervisor, program director and executive director of the Adolescent Chemical Dependency Programs. During this time, he helped to develop their nationally-acclaimed Adolescent Chemical Dependency Programs. He also served as a past president of the Northern Ohio Chemical Dependency Treatment Directors Association. Mr. Goodwin led in the development of the Adolescent Chemical Dependency Programs at Southwest General Hospital in Cleveland, providing consulting, training and clinical services for more than three years. Mr. Goodwin also served as a case management consultant for Jewish Family Services for over 10 years.

Prior to Saint Luke’s, Mr. Goodwin facilitated DWI and alcohol awareness programs for the Wood County Council on Alcoholism, and developed a campus-wide chemical dependency prevention and early intervention program for Bowling Green State University.

Mr. Goodwin earned his master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1981 from Bowling Green State University. He’s licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC) and Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC). He has attained international certification as well as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He is also credentialed as a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP).
